Falcon 50 EX: Individually Crafted with Passenger, Pilot in Mind

Posted by Duncan Download Blog on Tue, Jun 23, 2015 @ 07:00 AM

Duncan Aviation works with a variety of customers. The majority use their aircraft for business purposes, some have personal aircraft and a small portion are pilots themselves. A very select group fit all three categories.

Falcon50EX_April-2015When a customer came to Duncan Aviation's Battle Creek facility with a Dassault Falcon 50EX, his mission was to leave with the best upgrades in the cabin, as well as the flight deck.

"Our customer dubbed the Falcon a Time Machine, and wanted to ensure this time saver was the most comfortable and efficient tool to get from point A to point B," says Completions Sales Rep Nate Darlington, confirming that the creative tail number M-CFLY was, in fact, a Back to the Future time-traveler movie reference.

After completing a pre-buy inspection through Duncan Aviation, the aircraft went directly into an airframe inspection, complete interior refurbishment, complete aircraft paint refurbishment, Cabin Management System (CMS) installation and flight deck upgrades.

(VIDEO) Rockwell Collins's Venue CMS Features

Posted by Duncan Download Blog on Fri, Mar 14, 2014 @ 01:00 PM

Duncan Aviation recently installed Rockwell Collins’ Venue Cabin Management System (CMS) upgrade in two Falcon 900B aircraft and developed a video walk-through that shows those interested in potentially installing the system how it works.

“Our avionics team was impressed with the installation results and continues to see a surge in demand for Venue upgrades. Many existing systems are becoming obsolete as their technology has become dated,” says Senior Avionics/Installation Sales Rep Steve Elofson. "Upgrading to a current generation CMS like Venue provides not only the popular features expected today, but the new systems are well-supported and have a positive effect on the value of the aircraft. This video helps customers better visualize how the system would integrate in their aircraft."

In the video below, Duncan Aviation’s Install Team Leader Jason Thuman walks viewers through the entire cabin, highlighting the all-new High Definition (HD) CMS supplying intuitive user interface through touch-screen controls and wireless iPad cabin control.

Duncan Aviation gives Cabin Management System Talk at AEA Event

CMS

The combinations of CMS equipment that can be selected and installed are endless. Attend the upcoming AEA Convention in Las Vegas to learn how to navigate your many options.

When I was asked if I would give a class at the 56th Annual Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) International Convention and Trade Show on Cabin Management Systems (CMS), the answer was an easy yes. CMS is one of the avionics subjects that I am most passionate about.

With the recent explosion of new and exciting CMS entertainment and control options for business aircraft, my colleagues and I wrote a Straight Talk booklet about Cabin Management Systems and developed the CABIN MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS - CMS STRAIGHT TALK course for the AEA convention to help guide operators through their many options. Every day, Duncan Aviation Tech Reps field questions on cabin management and entertainment, and these resources cover the most common equipment requested by Duncan Aviation customers. The sessions at AEA will cover the basics of cabin management systems and get into the nuts and bolts of installing, interfacing and supporting various systems. Discussions will include everything from switching to displays, Wi-Fi and more. The session will conclude with a Q&A session and the critical exchange of pilot and crew debriefs.

This presentation at the AEA gatherings will be the first for me. I hope to use this opportunity to see what else is out there in the Avionics world and learn from it and hopefully give something back to the Avionics field with my experience. I hope to see you at the 56th Annual Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) International Convention and Trade Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 25-28, 2013.
